This was done in my figure drawing class last semester with a very early version of Photoshop CS5. The original is 1200 x 1600 pixels. Nothing too special but it was a lot of fun to try and get the whole figure done in a short amount of time. Unfortunately the students were limited to drawing and not painting. I guess it is sometimes good to be the teacher.

It's very difficult to distinguish this from an oil painting, i'm wondering if CS5's brushes will rival Painter's for blending?
Wow, CS5? Amazing! I am still using Photoshop CS (without any numbers behind :) )
You are fantastic with colors, as always. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Oh, and I have finished reading your book on Digital character painting.
I have to tell you; YOU are amongst the ones who changed my life direction. God bless you my friend.
I agree with the first comment: impressive work!
Thanks Scott, Snake, and Charlene. I will be updating the Photoshop book to a CS5 version. Should be finished by end of the summer.
WOW! delicious!....not the girl - the paint.
Nice painting don. Whenever I get on your blog it reminds me of how many more hours I need to put in! It's inspiring though for reals. Makes me want to work harder.
Thanks Will and PJ. Unfortunately the update CS5 book is on hold for a bit. Publisher decided they didn't want an update. There is still a chance with another publisher or I may self publish.
Terrible news on your Photoshop CS5 book! I love your artwork, Don, and was really looking forward to this book. Does your publisher not realize what a revolution the new PS brushes are?
Do you have a mailing list so I/we can find out if and when an updated book comes out? Thanks!
